Boston Multiples, March and April

March and April were full of multiple alarm fires in beantown, most notably the nine-alarm fire on Beacon Street. Here is the summary of latest:

5 March – Box 3429 – 12 Stanton Street
District 8 – 2 alarms plus extra engine and ladder
Fire in a 2 1/2-story dwelling in the attic and through the roof.

13 March – Box 12-235 – Emanuel College
District 4 – 2 alarms plus extra ladder for RIT
Fire from renovation work on No.4 floor runs pipe chases and into No.5 floor.

15 March – Box 2534 – 110 McBride Street
District 9 – 2 alarms
Basement with extension into first and second floor walls.

23 March – Box 3842 – 1904 River Street
District 12 – 2 alarms plus extra engine, ladder and chief
Basement with entension into first floor.

5 April – Box 1433 – 11-11A Hudson Street
District 4 – 2 alarms
Fire in first floor ceiling extended into second floor.

7 April – Box 1583 – 483 Beacon Street
District 4 – 9 Alarms
Fire on No.7 floor of 10-story multiple dwelling, with rescues and high humidity.

16 April – Box 354 – 911 Morton Street
District 8 – Three alarms
Fire in rear, third and second floors of 3-story dwelling.

20 April – Box 2374 – 53-51 Calumet Street
District 9 – 2 alarms
Fire on first floor of 3-story dwelling.

25 April – Box 139 – Boston Common Undergroud Garage, Charles Street
District 3 – Second alarm, for relief
Auto fire, three floors below grade.

29 April – Box 33-1422 – 426 Washington Street, MBTA Station 426
District 3 – Three alarms plus extra engine and ladder
Explosion, cable fire outside of below grade subway platform; Persons trapped on train.
