When you get additional addresses and the PIO marks up ‘smoke showing’, you know it’s work.
On Friday, 10 September, Communications dispatched the box alarm in Company 46′s area (Largo), for fire coming from the roof of the J.C. Penny’s, under construction at the Glenarden-Woodmore Town Center. PIO Mark Brady was in the area and reported heavy column of smoke showing. He arrived on scene shortly afterwards and established “command.” Duty Chief 800 subsequently arrived and managed the incident from that point on.
Fire involving roofing materials was quickly contained and extinguished. Command held the fire with companies assigned to the box alarm and working fire dispatch.
