Texas volunteer no longer on life support
The 76th official on-duty death for 2012 involves a POV response crash in Texas.
20-year old Jackson Heights volunteer firefighter Jalen Smith was reportedly ejected from a personally owned vehicle that crashed while having to take evasive measures. The vehicle rolled over several times and Smith was reportedly ejected. Two others in the vehicle were hospitalized and later released. Smith, in critical condition, was on life support earlier.
The call they were responding to was a reported tractor accident.
