Dave McGrail, one of Fire Nuggets’ members coined the term “Andy’s Ambassadors” after reflecting on the loss of Andy Fredericks. Dave and others recognized that Andy was more than a firefighter in the Bronx. He was a craftsman, constantly working on education and the basics. Andy’s focus wasn’t on tradition but on being smarter, efficient and in the end, safe. Below are topics and events where others are teaching the craft of firefighting and not just paycheck to paycheck tips.
The purpose of this page is to be a funnel, mostly of engine company work. There’s a lot of people out there and in this huge cyber-world it’s easy to miss something. If you pass along the information below, be certain to credit the original source and authors, not backstep.
